The Italian data protection authority (‘Garante’) announced, on 3 October 2022, in its monthly newsletter, that it had issued, on 7 July 2022, its decision No. 242, in which it imposed a fine of €45,000 on the Senseonics, Inc, for violations of Articles 5(1)(a), 5(1)(b), 5(1)(f), 6, 7, 9, 12, 13, and 27 of the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 679/2016) (‘GDPR’), following a data breach notified by Senseonics to the Garante.
